Holy Week - Holy Moments

Holy Week - Holy Moments

Were You There?

Dear Ones,

The African American spiritual "Were You There When They Crucified My Lord?" beautifully captures the feeling of being present to witness the terrible and mighty events of Jesus's final days and hours, and through death, to the Resurrection.

Our Holy Week liturgies serve as the sacred grammar of God's love, creating the experiential conditions that enable us to say unequivocally, "Yes! I was there when they crucified our Lord."

Beginning this evening and for the next week, the significant movements of the Holy Week liturgies will be briefly previewed, and testimonials will be given by St. John's members of their own experiences of these liturgies and the mighty past events they make present to transform our lives.

May you enter our Holy Week liturgies anticipating their transformative power.

Blessings,

Do you have special memories from past Holy Weeks? Please email Fr. Michael at rector@stjohnskirkland.org for inclusion in next year’s series.
