The Redevelopment Committee

Its Purpose:

To lead a process of change by which St. John’s worship, mission, and ministries become integrated such that everything we do serves to:
-
Introduce to new or aspiring Christians a lived knowledge of and friendship with God in a manner that deepens and strengthens the knowledge of and friendship with God of every member and the entire Body.
-
Create the conditions in which every member and the gifts of every member are welcomed and incorporated into the whole Body, thereby reaching their full expression in the worship, life, ministries, and mission of God through St. John’s.
-
Create the conditions in which every ministry not only performs its duties but does so in a manner is edifying for its members, strengthens the entire Body of Christ, and enriches the worship, life, ministries, and mission of God through St. John’s.

Its Tasks:

To recommission inactive ministries in a manner that strengthens the entire Body of Christ and enriches the worship, life, ministries, and mission of God through St. John’s.
To renew existing ministries in a manner that strengthens the entire Body of Christ and enriches the worship, life, ministries, and mission of God through St. John’s.
To establish new ministries in a manner that strengthens the entire Body of Christ, and enriches the worship, life, ministries, and mission of God through St. John’s.
To fully utilize the practices God has given the Church (i.e., sacraments, sacramental rites, corporate and private prayer, forgiveness of sin, fellowship, scriptural study, and acts of mercy and justice) to guide and nourish our lives and the life of our parish and the church.

It’s Raison d’être:
To reorient and reconfigure this Parish and the Church to better serve God’s purposes for the Church, trusting that the Holy Spirit will create of us an irresistible and indispensable group of individuals and the Body of Christ for all who seek to know and become friends with God through Jesus.
