Dear Ones,
 
Blessings and the very best wishes for a happy, peaceful and holy Christmas for you and all those you love.  I can’t adequately give words to how delighted Susan and I are to celebrate our first Christmas with you in person!
 
We are all set for Christmas at St John's.  If you’re planning to attend one of the Christmas Eve services, please RSVP if you are able by following this link and filling out a brief form here.  If you are not able to RSVP, please just come with your family. 
 
I’m looking forward to seeing many of you this afternoon, evening or at tomorrow's 10:00 am Christmas Day Mass. 
 
I’m also writing to let you know that we are canceling this Sunday’s worship service.  There is a forecast of possible snow and rain showers beginning tonight. Beginning Saturday night, temperatures are expected to drop considerably below freezing, and the sleet of the day will become ice and snow overnight.  For these reasons, and after consulting with our wardens and clergy, I’ve decided it is best to cancel this Sunday’s worship. 
 
It is our aim to make this Christmas all that we can.  And on Sunday, rest secure against the storm, and as the Holy Spirit moves you, consider attending one of the streamed services of the Washington National Cathedral, our own St. Mark’s Cathedral, or one of St. John’s streamed Christmas services.
 
As you finalize your preparations for Christmas, I pray that you and those closest to you find this holiday nothing other than an occasion of great cheer and joy, and may your hearts be filled with an abundance of gratitude for the gift of Emmanuel.
