LADIES NIGHT OUT
LADIES’ NIGHT OUT: The Western was America’s bedrock mythology – and greatest movie genre – for the first 70 years of film history. But, during a tumultuous period in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the “revisionist” Western took up a fiercely critical argument with the past: In the disillusioned age of the counterculture and Vietnam, you could no longer distinguish heroes from villains by the color of their hats. Movie critic Robert Horton will lead a lively and interactive discussion asking how movies reflect the history and culture of their times. Please join us in Marsh Hall at 7PM on January 17. Cost: Free
SAVE THE DATE: For our second Ladies’ Night Out of the month, we’ll meet on Thursday, January 31, at 7PM to make Valentines. $5 per person covers supplies and instruction by our own Tina D.
SJW DATES TO SAVE: The 2013 Women’s Retreat at Huston Conference Center will be on March 15-17.
