According to the Bible, especially the book of Deuteronomy, the family is important to God, and should be important to the church. Today the average family is finding itself scheduled beyond belief with little quality time left over for the whole family to be together. At St. John's we like to present families with opportunities outside of the Sunday services and classes for relevant and fun ways to spend time with one another.
Several times during the church year St. John’s schedules events and activities that also provide families opportunities to be in community with other families. In the past we have carved pumpkins, made Advent wreaths, bowled, watched a movie and played bingo. Please consult the calendar or The Beacon (The Lighthouse e-newsletter) for more information about upcoming events. If you would like to offer ideas or volunteer for such events, please contact Cathy Christensen in the church office. |
