MINI-CHRISTMAS BAZAAR: Everyone is invited to attend this year’s Mini-Christmas Bazaar which is set-up in the Narthex. This wonderful event is scheduled to be held today, Sunday, December 4th and on Sunday December 11th after both services. The event will feature hand-crafted Christmas items and baked goods. This is a perfect place to look for items made with lots of tender loving care for friends and family. All proceeds will go to our St. John’s Operating Budget. As an added bonus, up to $2,000.00 in sales will be matched by an anonymous donor. Every dollar that you spend, means $2.00 goes to our Operating Budget.
THANK YOU FROM YOUR ALTAR GUILD: Thank you to everyone who brought in food to help decorate our altar for Thanksgiving; the altar looked lovely laden with your gifts. All food items, which totaled 59lbs, were delivered to Hopelink to be shared during this holiday season.
THANK YOU: Three weeks ago, 720 Ditty Bags were packed for the Mission to Seafarers. This is the largest number of Ditty Bags in a very long time. Under the leadership of Donna R., St. John’s provided 240 of the bags. Thank you to everyone who played a vital role in making the ditty bags, stuffing them and providing the necessary materials. There are many seamen saying a prayer of thanks this holiday season for your generosity.

THE SONGS OF ADVENT - a women’s Advent Bible study is meeting on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Marsh Hall through December 21. As familiar as we are with the songs of Christmas, there are songs in the Gospel of St. Luke celebrating the birth of Jesus that most of us aren’t familiar with. The angels sang a song of peace to the shepherds. Mary sang a song of trust to God after she had time to get over the shocking news that she was going to be the mother of the Savior. Simeon also had a song that was filled with hope. This study is free. For more information contact Cathy C. in the church office.
ECW CHRISTMAS DINNER: Tickets are now available for the ECW Christmas Dinner on Saturday, December 17th. The cost is $25 per person and this includes a fully catered dinner. Can you share computer expertise? Do you have a vacation rental? Do you have any connections to restaurants? Extra theater or sports events tickets? Gift Cards? What about a bottle of wine to go in a mystery wine bag? Please email Caroline H. at 425-827-3077.
CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PAGEANT: Please join us on Sunday, December 18th for our annual Children’s Christmas Pageant. Come and enjoy an evening with your church family as we celebrate together the Good News.
CHRISTMAS FLOWER REMEMBRANCES: Christmas flowers are given by members of the congregation as memorials or thanksgivings. The names of those to be remembered will be included in the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day service bulletins. If you would like to contribute, please complete the yellow form found in this bulletin and place it in the offering plate or mail it to the office by December 20th.
ADVENT GIFT CARDS: Women of the World (WOW) Committee kicks off their next major global campaign by offering Advent gift cards available for a $10 donation that will purchase a share of a community garden through Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD). The gift cards will be available for purchase in the Narthex for two Sundays, December 4th and December 11th. This is a high impact gift from the ERD Gifts of Life Catalog that costs $9,000. Every donation makes a difference! Stop by our table to learn more about how this gift can help a community in need. A community garden can cultivate a healthy diet and a source of income. Your gift will help provide the funds to purchase land for small-scale farming that will feed an entire community. Training, techniques, seeds and basic tools are included. A community garden can improve diet and nutrition for a large number of families. Good nutrition helps children to grow stronger and do better in school, giving the whole community a better chance at a brighter future.
